Next up: More volunteering!

This weekend is the Great Pumpkin and Spooky Sprint Duathlon at Kennsington Metropark.

EXCITEMENT!

If I was any sort of ready I would go ahead and opt for the sprint, however... I am no sort of ready (plus, and I still have not replaced my stolen bike which is obviously a technical issue) so I am doing the next best thing.

If you cannot race it... support those who can!

I have contacted Annmarie over at 3Disciplines Racing seeing if they still need volunteers for the race. I know the answer already - of course they do! I live very close to the venue so I am more than happy to cheer on and lend a hand to my fellow athletes. Plus I *heart* fall and all things pumpkin. It was meant to be really.

I am putting the finishing touches on my 2008 racing schedule but I have decided to add in a new component - Volunteering. My goal is volunteering at 3 races in 2008.

So, what is my "A" volunteering race of 2008 you ask? Well... it involves washing machines.

I will be on the sidelines cheering on and supporting all of the great people heading to my home state to participate in the 3rd running of the Whirlpool Steelhead 70.3 Half Ironman in August. (We are not cool enough to be sponsored by Ford. I guess it has something to do with us being a GM preferring state or something....)

THE FINAL COUNTDOWN HAS ENDED
As a follow-up to my previous post - as you may (not) have heard, the shut-down of Michigan's gvt lasted all of 4 hours. They now have temporary budget in place giving them 30 days to come to a final agreement.

Seriously now... this state is sometimes *cough*often*cough* rediculous.

I hope that your week is starting off well. Time to relinquish control of the computer to Mike.

Have a great one!

Those that can't do, volunteer or is it teach? Great idea to put it on your 2008 calendar.

Thank you Ken! I like volunteering. It really pumps me up, and reminds me of why I do this crazy thing to begin with.
