Congratulations, well wishes, and Challenge Updates. Wow! What a weekend!

CONGRATUALTIONS goes out to two friends of mine...

First off Tanya for FINALLY becoming an honest woman lol. ;)

And secondly to my best gal friend. She found out four or so months ago that she was pregnant, but shortly thereafter she had a miscarriage. Well as of 2 weeks ago she found out that through a miracle... the baby suirvived. Either she was pregnant with twins, or her doctor made one BIG mistake... but either way she is expecting a bouncing baby in early February and she is super excited! I am excited too because now I will be an aunt! And that means that I will be throwing on heckova baby shower!!!! That child's name needs to be miracle, for sure.

For well wishes today - good luck to all the peeps finishing their tri season at SOMA. Bold, Nytro, and 21st Century mom will all be there. Although Bold and Nytro are expecting a sub-fun race... I think that they will do great! GOOD LUCK MY PEEPS!

Wrapping up today's random post is an update on my personal Through Th3 Wall Challenge hosted by Iron Wil and Buckeye Outdoors.

Seriously people. If you are looking for a site to log in your calories, exercise, training, sleep, and whatevers... Buckeye Outdoors is THE place for you.

So far I have shed 6 lbs.

Oh yes... that is not a type-o. I lost SIX pounds.

All because I tracked my food and calories and could see my downfalls. Also I tracked my exercise and it is so rewarding to see everything that you do in week right there in front of you. It shows you that everything counts.

It is like a formula... What goes in - what goes out = what is remaining. Calories - exercise = weight loss or weight gain.
I think that some types of people look for the easy way out... the magic pill... because they are not willing to change their realtionship with food.

I was one of those people.

Why do we have this relationship with food? I'd much rather hang out with my friends, or spend time with Mike than to stuff my face with a cheesecake. But I was not always like this. There was a time not so long ago that I was more interested in cheesecake than happiness with people. It was a rough time... but I learned a lot from it.

Isolation is never the answer... and the food we eat is never an excuse.

So over the past month I did something pretty profound for me. I have broken up with food. Food is not my friend... food is not my enemy. Food does not provide me shelter, emotional health, or security. Food does not shield me from the dangers of this world. Food has NO power.

So, why did I ever give food a mystical power over me? That answer is beyond me, but I know now that I will never do it again. I am at a much better place in my life today than I ever have been and it is all because I have worked hard and really invested in myself and those around me. And an amazing thing has happened since I changed my outlook... I no longer give power to things that should not have it. I give power to the things and people in my life that deserve it.

Well, I think that I am well on my way to the habit. I feel it... my habit is right about there. I have been making it a point to get some form of exercise or caloric burn every day... even on my rest days. I still rest, but I make sure to still be active in life.
I guess you could say that I am living life with purpose again.

I love it and totally agree. I had to get to a point where I realized that food is not entertainment - it is just nourishment. I still struggle with that, but working on it.

Awesome job on the 6. I have 11 to lose and I'm giving myself until Feb to do it.
