I am doing it darn it.

So it is official. I have a 22 week training plan all ready to go. I am getting a new bike this summer, and I am getting into stellar shape.

Hmmmm.... time to unveil the secret I guess. I am going to talk the talk and walk the walk. As well as bike the bike and swim the swim.. and of course, run the run! Yes that is right folks... I am all geared up and it is set, Welcome to my entrance into the wide world of triathalons.

*golf clapping*

I am starting out with a few indoor ones in January and February, then off to the sprints in late spring/early summer. Right now I am completely content with sprint distances. If I like them then I may opt to go longer form. But I am happy as a clam just getting over my nerves of the lake and setting my sights on a great way to further my healthy endeavors.

Running is still my passion, don't get me wrong. I adore it. But Mike and I have decided to do a Du together next year, if not more than one. Then I got to thinking - heck girl. thousands of people out there do tris... what is the only thing stopping you? WATER. So you know what? Screw you open water phobia. I am doing it!

Plus I get to add another funny workout name to the regimine. Fartlek and Yasso I'd like to introduce you to brick. *wince* Yeah that was really bad, wasn't it?

On the running related front - tonight is a 4 miler with speed work. I have the perfect 4 mile course, complete with a lot of varying hills and some nice flats as well. Perfect for acceleration gliders, hill repeats and Jennikins-inspired-fartleks. (my version of the tried and true speed work).

*hee hee... she said fartlek*

i like putting those goals out there, too. i look forward to following your progress toward the triathlon. i admire what it takes to do those. it would take me out of my comfort zone, but perhaps that would be a good thing. best of luck!

Thank you all!

This was the big announcement/goal I posted about a few months ago.

Mike has done some Du's in the past, and he used to be an avid runner. We decided to give teh Du a shot together, and then I decided that I really want to experience the joys of the tri.

I am getting excited for training!1 I know that it will be hard, and that I will overcome some of my fears and phobias that I have not had to face yet in the upcomming year or two.

Let the games begin!!!!
