Martinis get the best of me...

Went out to Robusto's last nght with Mike and my friend Par. Had a few select martini's (of the 160+ available) such as the German Chocolate Cake martini, Chocolate and peanut butter dipped banana martini, and to top off the evening the Robusto's classic Bloody Martini - a $15.00 drink which consisted of the bloody mary-esque martini, 3 shrimp (jumbo), two olives (jumbo) and 1 pickle spear. I about died. But it was good.

Then the reality of a morning race set in... at about 6am when I was still feeling the bloody martini. Needless to say, I skipped the 8K race, and tomorrow will be doing my planned LSD - again, long for me, slow for me, and yes - a distance.

Today consisted of breakfast of champions at our fave coney island - Hellenic. I actually was able to have my signature omlette - Spinach Pie! Yummy! What amazing morning-after-a-martini-bender-night food it is. Then Par and I chilled and watch the Food network - and headed to the mall so I could buy some much needed work clothes. It is a great feeling to loose weight.

Last night was the last time I drink prior to a race. I swear. From here on out it is no more celebratory drinks prior to races. I am beat as it is...

Take care all and I will post about tomorrow's adventures when I return. On the agenda - a bridal show (a few friends are getting married) and my run. Fun fun fun!

I had to learn the "Don't drink before a race" lesson the hard way too

Good luck on the long run

Yes, drinking really DOES impact workouts and running!!! Not a good mix.
